A Few of My Favorite Adobe Fonts
Hello friends! Welcome to a new week. I am a big Adobe Fonts fan and wanted to share a few current favorites with you – I am hoping to share a few each week on Tuesday because honestly I just can’t resist a good Type Tuesday.
Sourcing fonts is a lot of work. People generally have a firm stance on whether or not it is polite/fair to ask a designer on Instagram for the name of a particular font. I personally do not ask other designers to identify typefaces – this is the approach that feels best to me. I know how many hours (and hours and hours, etc.) can go into researching foundries, emailing designers, scouring EULAs, paying for varied licenses… so I feel it’s my responsibility to do that same work on my own time. With that being said, I do LOVE when designers choose to identify typefaces on their own terms. (An AMAZING example.) Which is why we’re here!
This phrase is part of a beautiful poem by Rilke – I first saw it at the closing credits of JoJo Rabbit and amidst some major tears (what a movie), paused to take a picture so I would remember it.
Do you use Adobe fonts in your projects? Do you ask designers to identify fonts on Insta? I would love to hear your take!
